Interactive Design Project
Moving to Ann Arbor, I wish there was something like Bulletin for me. There were so many opportunities and events happening that I discovered after the fact and was unsure where to go to engage with events. It was difficult trying to meet people outside of my program and I wanted a platform that would help me grow my network and community.
This project was done completely independently. Although there were opportunities throughout the semester for structured feedback, I often needed to seek out additional feedback on my own.
Learning Figma was not part of the curriculum so figuring out how to create high-fidelity prototypes during the semester both challenging and enjoyable. Despite the learning curve, I was able to adapt quickly!

Key Insights π
Maintain compatibility with major sites
I am now considering being able to book externally through my site to be more compatible with pltforms like Eventbrite.
Exposure to a wide range of events
Bulletin should serve as a unified, go to place to learn about large cross section of events happening across the city.
Bulletin board mental model
This platform would serve as a place to learn about events with information of where to find more information
Less like S'more (users sharing experiences) but I want it to have space for established businesses as well.
Need to simplify event finding process
Currently, users are exhausted with the sheer number of sites used to find one event.
Streamlined platform for users with diverse interests.
They had diverse interests so they utilize different websites/apps for different events, which could be streamlined.
βsometimes, you may feel as though it's taking too much work to find a place, or like an event to go to with when using like Eventbrite or Ticket Masterβ
Community engagement
Knowing what your friends and close community members are doing would increase the turn out of my interviewees.
Having access to that information would be beneficial both for the businesses and communities.
βIt definitely helps when I also know somebody else going to that, because I think part. You know. I'm an ambivert, so I can socialize. But sometimes I don't want to.β
Solidifying the User Flows
Hosts interactions:
Host pages are allowed to access the patron flow, and create new and verify events posted by patrons.
Patrons interactions:
For the patron, they are able to register, share, and save events.
They can also add events on behalf of a host, and either post unverified by the host, or wait for verification.
Design Rationale
Why have an external checkout?
This page is still internal to the site
Bulletin serves as a middle point to connect users, not a only a place to host events
Profile information from user would autofill into this page as well

Will patrons really add events for hosts?
When testing this feature, I received a positive reaction to this from the host!
Patron testing participants said that the autofill feature would make them more inclined to use
Future Iterations
Stronger focus on secondary persona
I would want to reach out to more host patrons to ensure this interface serves them as intended.
More friends features
I would want to display and flesh out more of the community aspect. Parts are seen with tags to show friends who have registered for events, but more interactions would solidify this feature.
Takeaways
This project was done completely independently. There were times in class throughout the semester for structured feedback but a lot of the feedback I had to source on my own. Learning Figma was not part of the curriculum so a figuring out how to make high fidelity prototypes throughout the semester was a lot of fun, but came with a learning curve. Nevertheless, I was able to adapt quickly! I was able to continue working on this project during the summer, applying new Figma knowledge!
